There are real ways to help — wherever you are
Some options require being in Kathu. Others don't. All of them make a difference.
Ways to get involved
Volunteer
Help with transport, feeding, trap-neuter-return operations, home checks, or general hands-on support. No experience necessary — just reliability and a willingness to show up.
Get in touchFoster
Provide temporary care for a cat in recovery or rehabilitation. Fosters are the backbone of our operation — without homes to place cats in, our rescue capacity is severely limited.
Become a fosterAdopt
Give a cat a permanent home. All our cats are sterilised, vaccinated, and assessed before adoption. We take the placement process seriously — for the cat's benefit and yours.

Fostering is the most urgent need
There is a small physical base, but space is limited. Every cat we rescue needs somewhere to go — and without fosters, we quickly run out of capacity. Without fosters, we cannot accept new rescues. It is as direct as that.
Fostering does not require experience. We provide guidance, support, and cover veterinary costs for cats in our care. What we need from you is space, time, and willingness. A spare room or a quiet corner of your home can be enough for a cat recovering from illness or surgery.
Fostering is temporary — the commitment ends when the cat is adopted or moved on. But the impact lasts for the lifetime of that animal.
Enquire about fosteringA note on what we can and can't coordinate
We get enquiries from people outside Kathu who want to help — long-distance adoptions, remote fostering, or sending items by post. We appreciate the intention, but coordinating these creates more overhead than benefit at our current scale. If you are not local, the most direct thing you can do is make a financial donation.
If you are in the area and want to get hands-on, get in touch. We will find something useful for you to do.
